Chrysanthos Theodorides (1934-2005) from Pontus is one of the best singers of traditional Pontian music.

"Pontiaka" is not a rythm, the term is used to describe music from Pontus.

Now in Pontian music they are different rythms like example Pyricchios (quick 7/8 rythm), Archoulamas (much slower rythm) etc.

yes Pontian music can be very fast or slow..

One thing Ill always remember is being at the platia in my xorio in Drama and watching the Pontiaka dancers dance the night away. The dances where so powerful and with meaning.
