The visitors rounded off the Group Two win with an Angelos Charisteas penalty in the 77th minute after Vassilis Torosidis had opened the scoring in the 36th minute and Gekas had made it 2-0 at the end of the first half.
Greece began the game with three strikers but it was left back Torosidis who got the opening goal after meeting a cross from Giourkas Seitaridis with a powerful header.
Gekas doubled the lead when Luxembourg overcommitted in attack and left him alone to race past goalkeeper Jonathan Joubert and roll the boll into an empty net.
Luxembourg rarely troubled Kostas Chalkias in the Greece goal and the visitors sealed the three points when Charisteas slotted away a penalty after Gekas had been impeded in the area by Eric Hoffmann.
