- The dissemination of any personal information about you as a result of either your negligence (e.g. staying logged into a computer that others have access to) or willingness to post such information on a public forum. - GreekRealm.com does not host files including warez, nor do we upload them to our servers. We are not responsible for what other people upload to 3rd party sites. Please direct all copyright infringement issues to the companies that host these files (Google, Dailymotion, YouTube, etc.)
Forum rules, in addition to the Disclaimer:- You cannot attack and/or personally insult someone. You cannot bait other forum members. Please, remain courteous and respectful to all forum members at all times.

- Also note in no way is any of our original content on the forum allowed to be redistributed without permission from the administration of GreekRealm.com.
- You cannot simply cut and paste. You MUST provide the identifying information (source, author, date, and URL). You must also offer some original thoughts along with the cut and paste. You may copy and paste an excerpt or series of excerpts from the article. Excerpts really shouldn’t be more then a paragraph or two. Furthermore, if you use images or other copyrighted material in your posts or signature you must have permission of the copyright holder unless you know for a fact that the image is in the public domain.
- You can't post the same thing in multiple forums. You must not open similar threads about the same or a similar topic.
- You cannot spam the board or send unsolicited messages to members via PM, email or any other means.
- Disussion of recreational drugs are strictly prohibited on the forum.
- No advertising of any business which charges for their product or for work to be performed by the advertiser. If you would like to advertise your business or product please contact the administrator .
- Do not post off-topic. You cannot derail a thread with off topic posts.
- You cannot shout in posts. This includes posting in all CAPS, bold, lIkE tHiS, and extra large font. Posts should also be one color, although you may use an additional color for highlighting ideas you wish to address.
- You may not alter quotes in a way that misrepresents what was originally said.
- You cannot sexually harass other members. If you are not sure if something you write is inappropriate or not then don't say it. Error on the side of caution.
- Multiple accounts are not allowed. If you are found to have more than one account all accounts will be permanently terminated.
- You cannot have a user name, avatar, signature or post images that are deliberately offensive. That includes the display of overly explicit or graphic images that may not be suitable for minors.
- You are prohibited from taking any action to disturb the use of the services by others, distribute material that contains viruses, spyware or any other malicious code or harmful programs. This includes interfering with the working of the network, attempts to gain unauthorized access to a service or other computer systems that are part of the site or any other site, by use of the available services.
- Discussion of moderation actions in the public forums is not permitted. Moderation actions include warnings, suspensions and the editing or deletion of posts. If a member has a concern about a moderation action, he or she is invited to address it with the board staff via Private Message. This rule exists to protect the privacy of all posters with regards to disciplinary action. The moderator team will never publically discuss the warnings/suspensions of any posters, and we ask that you return the favor, whether about yourself or another poster.
- Do not ignore moderators or administrators. Do not repost something a moderator or administrator has deleted. You cannot have moderators or administrators on your ignore list.
- Post only in English or Greek. Short passages in foreign languages may be acceptable if it's use seems helpful for the ongoing discussion and when there is no indication of a potential violation of the forum rules. Always provide a translation into English in such cases. In case of doubt, the incident will be regarded as a violation, no matter of the actual meaning of the foreign language text.
- Please pay attention to the additions to the forum rules and board policies that will be found in the announcements forum from time to time.
- No advertising of other forums allowed that serve the same purpose as GreekRealm.com
- Anyone who is of non-Greek decent and refers to themselves as Macedonian shall be banned. Macedonia is Greek.
- Anyone who denies that their was a Greek genocide commited to the Greek people by the Turks without showing some kind of proof which is not biased shall be banned.
The administrators and moderators reserve the right to edit and/or delete a post and/or close a thread and/or delete a thread at any time if he/she is of the opinion that the post is too obscene, inappropriate, or has simply ran its course.
Consequences:
Failure to comply with any of the forum rules may result in your posts being edited or deleted and/or your account being temporarily or permanently banned from the forums.
GreekRealm.com uses a warning system that generates an automated Private Message to members when they are in violation of forum rules. The decision to issue an alert or warning is left to the discretion of the moderator or administrator handling the violation. If a member does not agree with an action taken by a moderator he/she can appeal to an administrator after he/she has sought clarification from the moderator and appealed to him/her directly. Members MAY NOT harass a moderator or administrator by sending excessive PMs when they are discussing an appeal; doing so will not help your case and will most likely only speed up the process to have the violating member suspended or permanently banned.
Violations are assigned a point value. Points are valid for 30 days. A member will be automatically suspended for five (5) days when they earn 10 points. The duration of suspension times begin to double when points are awarded after the initial five (5) day suspension (10 days, 20 days, permanent ban). If you choose not to receive PMs from moderators or administrators and end up suspended, please, don’t let it be a surprise to you since you chose not to communicate with us.
Point values are as follows:- Zero (0) points - Alerts
- Two (2) points - Off topic posts / spamming / discussing mod actions / other minor violations
- Four (4) points - Baiting / implying an Insult / altering "quotes" (academic dishonesty) / other less major violations
- Six (6) points - Direct insult at another member / ignoring a mod (or a mod decision) / other major vioalations
The administrators and moderators also bear the right to issue warnings, temporarily suspend or ban posters for continued trolling or other serious misconduct (e.g. professional spamming, violent threats or other attempted or actual intimidation, call for criminal conduct, etc.) even if the poster has not yet reached the maximum warning points or suspensions level.
Other options if the above consequences do not seem adequate include placing the member on the global ignore list or in a moderation queue. Global ignore list means that every post you ever posted will not be seen by other members here until you have been taken off of the global ignore list. Moderation queue means all your posts will have to be approved before they are posted to the board.
Privacy Policy
GreekRealm.com takes your privacy seriously. At no time will any member information ever be passed or sold on to another party except where necessary to cooperate with law enforcement agencies.

Scope of this policy
This privacy policy relates solely to the GreekRealm.com web site and forums. It does not cover any other site you may find links to, or which are used by GreekRealm.com to provide specific services.
Children on this site
U.S. law requires that Web sites may not collect information of any kind, including an e-mail address, from children under 13 years of age without their parent's consent. This web site takes measures to restrict membership to persons 13 years and older.
GreekRealm.com can not be held responsible for any user who fraudulently provides false information about their age, in order to gain access to this site.
Logged Activity
Whenever you request a page through your browser data such as your IP address, browser and version, OS, date and time and the site from which you came are stored in a log file for statistical analysis. This information is never passed on or used in any other way.
When posting in our forums, your current IP address is recorded against your post and is viewable by the administration team. Certain activates within the forums, such as editing and deleting posts are also recorded in a Moderators log file which can be viewed by the admin. This records your user name, IP address, a brief description of the action and the time it happened. This is a standard security practice amongst many forum and community web sites and is only ever used at GreekRealm.com to investigate suspicious accounts and activities within the forums.
[b] Your username is a name you create upon registering at www.GreekRealm.com. Once you choose your username it will not be deleted from our database. Even upon request we will not delete it.
Passwords
Passwords are encrypted in the site database. They cannot be retrieved by anyone. It is your responsibility to keep your password safe. If you forget your password you can request a new one to be sent to you.
Email
GreekRealm.com requires that you maintain a valid email address in your profile at all times for the purpose of validating and distinguishing active and dead accounts. Your email address is not visible in your profile and at no time will we ever sell or pass on your email address to any third party.
From time to time administrators may wish to send out email notices. You may opt out of these notices via the user control panel at any time, however in the case of important “service” messages such as system updates or account validation messages, the admin may choose to override this option.
If you choose to send an email to another member, your email address will be visible to the member when they read the email.
Personal information
We will never intentionally make your profile or account settings available to non-members. Unless otherwise stated, only registered members have access to any of your profile details.
Cookies
This website uses cookies to store information on your local computer. These cookies are small text files that do not contain any personal information; they serve only to improve your experience of this site. They enable features such as the storing of your logging in details or letting you know if you have visited a part of the site before. We do not collect any personal information through the use of cookies and you may remove the cookies at any time by using the Delete cookies set by this board option, as well as altering your web browsers settings to not accept cookies from this site.
Database
In order for this system to work, all your posts and other communications using this system have to be stored in a database. This database can only be accessed by the site administrators and the private contents of the database will not be disclosed to anyone; your passwords are encrypted and can not be viewed.

Private Messages (PM’s)
Private Messages are a function of these forums which allow a member to post messages to another member or group of members away from the public view. Like any other message in our forums, these messages are stored in the forums database.
While these messages are considered private and personal, the administrators are able to view these messages if so required by law enforcement agencies or in cases where illegal activities or severe rule infringement is suspected. In such cases only applicable information to the case will ever be obtained from any messages.
Exceptions
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in good faith that such action is necessary to conform to applicable law , court order or legal process served on our website.
While all reasonable efforts are made to ensure the security of this site, we will not accept any responsibility for data that is lost as a result of a hacking attempt or other breach of security.
Right to update
GreekRealm.com reserves the right to amend this policy at any time. Once an amendment has been made we will notify all members via the Community News and Updates forum.
New Member Limitations In order to prevent spamming new users will not be able to post links on the forum. You need a total of 50 posts to do so. New users will not be able to post links on the signature either. If you attempt to add a link even though it wont be live to begin with you will receive a 2 point infraction no questions asked. |
