Most Greeks are not actually interested in the politics of USA, but among the ones I saw having some interest on them, they all support Obama.
That is an absolutely baseless statement. Care to try and prove that claim?

I find that extra odd considering that a lot of Greeks in America own small businesses and I can't imagine them wanting to be taxed to death so people who don't want to work can get a free hand-out.

The Greeks I know are thoroughly conservative. They don't believe in free hand-outs, abortions (science proves life begins at conception), anti-Christian legislation, ad nauseam. The Democratic party is anti-family (values).

The fact is that both parties, Democrats and Republicans, are corporate TOOLS. They are both thoroughly controlled by vested interests. We need a third party that refuses to accept corporate campaign contributions.

Also, both corporate parties have betrayed Greece at every turn. Some people act like these two tools actually give a rats ass about Greece. They both pose for pictures with our community leaders and say this and that, but they don't give a damn about us. Don't be deceived.

And why are so many young people so gung-ho about this Obama guy? He has never done anything. He only had a total of 143 days of Senate experience (I keep leftovers in my refrigerator longer than that). He has never in his life run a business. Further, he is a proven plagiarist and a racist.

But all the young people are like, "Look! He's black! Now that's change we can believe in!" But young people don't vote in large numbers (Goggle the statistics). And thank God for that.

Here are some nice juicy quotes from Obama's books:

"I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."
(From Audacity of Hope)

From his book Dreams of My Father:

"I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites."

"I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race."

"There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white."

"It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names."

"I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself , the attributes of Martin [a fellow plagiarist] and Malcolm [an extreme anti-European racist], DuBois and Mandela [a dictator who committed genocide against Europeans]."

I don't normally get political but I am getting tired of all this "Obama is pro-Greek!" propaganda. It's absurd.

I think Ellinas was referring to Greeks in Greece. He lives in Greece.

Now I’d like to address the rest of your screed.

You are right in that many, many Greek-Americans are small business owners, my husband and I included. And I can say with complete authority on this subject that our taxes have gone up, not down, during the Bush years. The only people getting tax breaks are the ones who don’t have to work for a living. All while our infrastructure is crumbling and we’re mired in a despicable war.

The Greeks I know are split about 40-60 conservative. My husband is a dyed-in-the-wool Republican, who now regrets voting for Bush. I am an independent with strong libertarian leanings…never have voted down a party line.

I completely agree that both parties are corporate tools. I really don’t get assertions that the Democrats are anti-family. And isn’t it a Christian value to help those who are down and out? Do people take advantage of the system? Absolutely. Are there people who actually need help? Absolutely. How is that anti-family?

Regarding abortion, I don’t recall reading that science has proven that life begins at conception. And I would like to see an example of anti-Christian legislation. (Anti-state-advocated religion legislation is proper and constitutional.) I do not believe in abortion. I have four beautiful blessings from God. But I could not presume to judge a woman who had to make such an awful decision.

As to both parties having betrayed Greece, you are absolutely correct. As Greeks, American foreign policy is important to us, but can’t be counted on. But as Americans, we need to vote for the candidate who will always put America first.

I agree with you about Obama’s lack of experience. He was the last of the Democrats I would have chosen. And as for the “change” rhetoric, that’s all it is, rhetoric. Regarding Obama’s sins, I’m certain there are some things about McCain he’d rather we not know.

I haven’t read Obama’s books, although it’s always easy to take things out of context to prove a point. The fact that he was a member of that Afro centrist church for 20 years is disconcerting, though.

Barring anything dramatic happening between now and the election, my husband will probably vote for McCain, and I’ll probably vote for Nader.

Re: Turks dislike Obama's selection of Joe Biden as running mate

A good indication of how much self respect the average americano has for himself. He chooses a hybrid concoction as his presidential candidate. A simile Papa Doc Duvalier, ex president of a banana island. And what is americano's alternate choice ? : A yellow jaundiced face hamster look alike gangster. Both playing their trombons and violoncellos under the baton of Zion Bersnstein in the Sanhedrin symphony orchestra of Wall street.
The hybrid is as pro greek, as Ataturk was philohellene.

Exactly on Obama, I am very shocked and suprised that Greeks of all people would be for this hybrid as you call it simply because he's uttered some pro Greek sentiments somewhere. And yes, they are both puppets and neither will serve the people.

The fact that Obama is a politician, and therefore not to be trusted, is valid. Judge him on his politics and his actions. But to judge him purely on his ancestry is unfair and un-Christian. He didn’t have a hand in his lineage.

You should be a poet Ursus!

On another note I just saw that slime ball Clinton supporting Obama. I guess if that Obama wins they will want one of those hybrids over here in the UK, seeing as all them are reading Obama's life story. Now that other Zionist John Kerry (real name Kohn) is talking up Obama, it seems Obama now comes from a long line of war heroes.

As I said their number is not really big, but all the people I have talked with which are interested on the politics of USA are supporting Obama. And I saw many blogs and groups in the Greek internet expressing positive views about Obama.

And as gorgona said I am not referring to Greel Americans.
