Although Paul Anka is Canadian (from Lebanese descent), he seldom comes to Canada to sing. A great performer, and to me, always a joy to watch.
This is the opening song at the Montreal Jazz Festival. One can feel in the audience what Montrealers call "la joie de vivre" (the joy of living), very typical of Montreal people, not just in concerts but in everyday life, something I think one does not find anywhere else in Canada.

One song from Paul Anka is never enough, once I start listening to him, I have to go through all of them. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

I have written something on this English version of the French song "Comme d'habitude" in the topic "French Songs", if anyone is interested.
My father is speaking often about Paul Anka but I never saw him or heard him singing. I was curious so thanks for the videos :D.
He also speaks often about Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra, however I've heard them singing many times before. My father lived in USA for a period of time when all these were in their flourish and he was young that's why they had inpact on him.
Then this is specially for your father and you, Ellinas. :)

Gee, the son of an Elvis fan. The forum is really getting better and better. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
I forgot to say that the title of the song is "Do I Love You". Paul Anka has sung a version with his daughter which can be found in one of his latest CD "Body of Works".
Of all the songs of Paul Anka, this is the one I like the most. Paul wrote it for his friend Sammy Davis Jr. whom he considers to be the best performer of all. There is a very touching virtual duet in the Montreal Jazz Festival DVD.
