"300" The Movie

If you don't already know about this, it is a movie about our ancient Spartan peeps the Lakedaimonians with King Leonidas and the battle of Thermopylae.

It's based on a graphic novel. Here is a link to the trailer. This isn't the official trailer that I have seen recently, but a much better older one from months ago that was yanked, and then put back up.

The trailer looks a bit surreal but I will not criticize before I see the movie. For sure it can't be worse than crap like "Troy" or Alexander".

No, I don't think it's like those other movies. At least they're not trying to pass off Leonidas as some blonde haired blue eyed hero. Although the actor is an anglo.

It's more like a comic book, caused it's based on that.

Its a fantasy version of the battle. The Persians are portrayed as being very monster-like (in appearence and in actions) while the Spartans seem to be Greek-looking (no Nordics).

I see this film as not being very historically accurate, especially it being a fantasy, however by the previews it really seems to glorify the Spartans. :)

Most movies are never historicaly accurate from what I see especially when it involves Greece. But like Ellinas said I will wait to see the movie before I comment.

I honestly dont think it could be as bad as Alexander.

what do u mean Greek looking??? Most Greeks in the North especially were Blue eyes and Blonde hair , not only that Achilles and Alexander would have more than likely had the Blues eyes and blonde hair because they were from the North like i said , so Greek looking isnt just dark skin and black hair , there are alot of Greeks that have Blue eyes and blonde hair too , such as myseld , my mother , some cousins and pappous brothers and sisters, i got blue eyes and brown hair , does that mean i dont look Greek megaleh??

I definately know what Megale is saying Leonidas. You have some wannabe historians like Arthur Kemp a Nordist who claim that original Ancient Greeks were Nordic also implying that they were predominantly blue eyed and blonde haired which is nothing but pure fantasy.

Greeks were never a Nordic people. Their were and still are Greeks who have blonde hair blue eyed including my youngest son and daughter but it was never a dominant color. He does not mean that blue eyed and blonde haired Greeks are not Greek trust me. Greeks are either dark, fair or white we consist of hundreds of different Greek tribes...
