Sadly, you're right. Holocausts as bad if not worse than the one in in WW II occurred in Greece/Armenia, Camobodia, Rwanda, USSR and other places yet we ignore them. As a teacher I'm ashamed of the fact that I too have failed to properly bring to light these atrocities. If it makes you feel any better, in our history text the word holocaust only appears once! It's as if no one wants to acknowledge anything bad in history. The Jews won't let it die; good on them. But we Greeks have a better history, a closer connection to Europe and are the reason London isn't a suburb of Berlin! Greeks died in greater numbers than ANY group in Europe and you're right about how badly our population was decimated. To boot, we, as OFFICIAL policy, put more effort into saving Greek Jews than any of those pissant cowards in Europe. Even Israel recognizes this. Yet, no one sticks up for us. Abominable!

.... I could not say it better myself. This is much of the world today ignorance. They do not know anything. Most people don't even know of the Greek and Armenian genocide. It seems that during the holocaust they had a lot of help. What did we have? Nothing....
