Re: The Fall of Constantinople 1453

If Jews can lay a claim to land after 2,000 years (and achieve it) then we could get Constantinople back after 'only' 500.

Of the Three Romes (Rome, Constantinople and Moscow) only Greece does not retain her holiest city. Greece lives with this shame. If anyone here says to "get over it" then I say you are a TRAITOR to Hellenism or simply unforgivably ignorant of the issue.

This is not a game. This is not some hobby, some internet activism crap. This is the DESTINY of Greece of our people. Constantinople is our city and I won't stand to hear so-called Greeks say defeatist crap.

Greece is destined to live, and will live !!

I must have missed something. Did a Greek say, "get over it?" If that's the case, I'd be shocked. Even my oldest (born and raised in the US) told her high school history teacher that the name “Istanbul” is offensive, and the correct name is Constantinople.

I dont think any actual Greek said that on here. Atleast not from what I've read unless I missed it. Also you are correct the name is Constantinople not Instanbul and I get extremely irritated when I hear people call it that name.

Vrtanes will become famous soon enough
Re: The Fall of Constantinople 1453

its funny (not really) how the turks have stolen half their culture from greeks. the turkish flag was a greek flag of constantinople and now the turkish name of the city instanbul itself is an old greek word, like a nickname of the city of constantinople.

like damascus in syria (damashq in proper form, but ash-sham in common form)

one day it will be greek again:)

You turks and turk lovers seem to be "HIGH" on yourselves. No matter how hard you try to change history, everybody will always know about your animalistic genocidal history.

Tell me, why do you call yourself Nico (a Greek name) and not Attilia, Eurtan, Fatima, Gurkan, Hakan, Tamsin, or Yogurt?
