Everyone know that there was a problem with religios pictures. But is this enough as problem that Byzantinians in egypt and other south regions did like the arab non christian leadership more than from their brothers in nothern Byzantium?
Perhaps there much no deeper problems, what do you think? |

During the early time of Byzantine history their was clash between Christians in Byzantine. I dont remember everything in detail but a lot of had to do with iconoclasm. I will find the info I have and post it here. |

The Copts are monophysites believing Christ had only one nature.
This relgious difference with their Orthodox brothers led to animosity towards the Byzantines and the Copts welcomed the Arab invaders.

For example history of Orthodox Christians and Catholics. Or even now Shiites and Sunnies two Islamic religions slaughtering eachother over the way they interpret it. |

Byzantium had heavy taxes in antithesis Arabs conquerors | Thats a good point Apollyon. I actually have a couple of books on the history Byzantium and if Im not mistaken one of those books mentions something about heavy taxes imposed by the Byzantine empire although it does not state towards who. |
