Another great modern Greek Zembekiko, and the most pessimistic song exists on Earth. It needs a lot of desperation and imagination to write something like this.

I will post here both versions of the songs with Sfakianakis and Bikakis.

Notis Sfakianakis, the one who made it famous sings the song:

Stelios Bikakis from Rethymno, its composer, sings the song in a TV show. He is a composer not a singer, but I like the tune of his Doric Cretan voice:

Όπως είπα ο Μπικάκης δεν είναι καθαρός τραγουδιστής και δεν μπορεί να συναγωνιστεί το Σφακιανάκη, αλλά μου αρέσει και η δική οτυ εκτέλεση.

Sfakianakis should make a compliation cd of his best zeimbekika songs. I feel hes unmatched today in this area.

Even if he is my favourite I will not say he is unmatched, because Mitropanos and Terzis are also high class in Zembekika.

There is a CD which compiles Sfakianakis' Zembekika, but it was published in 2002 therefore it doesn't include the newer Zembekika of Sfakianakis. The CD is called: "9/8 Τα ζεμπέκικα του Νότη"

Terzis is definately up their in the ranks with Sfakiannaki. Im sure their are more as well.
