I think they have nothing to do with the Thracians period. The Bulgars were a seminomadic people thought to have spoken a Turkic language, who during the 2nd century migrated from Central Asia into the North Caucasiansteppe. Between 377 and 453 they took part in the Hunnic raids on Central and Western Europe. After Attila's death in 453, and the subsequent disintegration of the Hunnic Empire, the Bulgar tribes dispersed mostly to the eastern and southeastern parts of Europe. |

The early Bulgarians were a Turkic tribe. Later they mixed with Slavs and probably with some Thracians too, but the Slavic element is what dominated. Their language is Slavic and most Bulgarians nowadays are of Slavic origin. Therefore I think today's Bulgarians can be considered Slavs, besides the mixtures.
The Romanians are related much more with Thracians than Bulgarians are, as they are of Dacian origin. The origin of the Dacians is disputable, but some people claim they are of Thracian origin. Even if this is not correct, it is a fact that there was a big association of them with the Thracians, therefore mixture too. |

I wonder why they would think something like this when its well known that they came from a Turkic tribe. |

But in the era of internet I would not be surprized at all seeing such a theory. They are theories for everything around the internet, even a theory that all the past presidents of the USA were of Skopian origin - many here have seen it I guess. |

DID! keep in mind by then the Thracians where pretty much Hellenized/Romanized! It is possible that TRUE Macedonians, Illyrians, Paoinans, Thracians, Central and Southern Greeks got caught behind during the rush to Imperial territory. Those poor souls where either enslaved and sold, killed or worse got assimalated!!! Skopians, Albanians, Bulgarians, Turks, and Serbs have the the above DNA BUT their Culture and Language identity DOMINATE what DNA they possess! |

These groups are foreign to the region and claim to be descendant of these tribes to make land and cultural claims. At least the albos and bulgars don't call themselves that.

And which Albanians you are referring to, the Ghegs or the Tosks? | Romanians and Albos came from the same area of Caucasus. ( I wonder how many races that place produced ?) They have also the same phychological profile. Thieves, murderers, scums. And thats not because the poverty of their own.
About Ghegs and Tosks now, what do you mean? Are they different?
I think nope, except the side of Albania they live, south side for Ghegs i think and northside for the others.
Umm.... maybe theres a difference between them and its in appearance. Those who live in north side are more blond and have less rough facial characteristics.
