Limited rice for sale?

Two large stores in America have Costco and Sams club are selling limited rice to customers.

Due to increased demand we are limiting the supply of rice to customers is what the sign reads..

The funny thing is all the people who preach to us about "feeding the poor" were also the ones to preach for the use of bio-fuels. As bio-fuels become more profitable, less farmland will be available for wheat, rice and other staples. It will be poorer countries who take a hit. My rice consumption won't change even if the price quadrupled this year.
