| Looking for Some Singers In light of what may or may not be a death in the musical community, I figured I'd post this. I'm seriously looking for these three singers. I want to find the men not just their songs. I'm posting two videos of each, except the last one. I hope this is okay. I thought it would be a good visual/audio reminder incase the names don't ring any bells for you. Giannis Lembesis is a personal friend of my bf but he lost his contact info. He's the only person I know of who writes his own rebetika today, along with singing the classics.
(that second one has a really cool skit and nice taximia along with the song.) Agathonas Iakovidis also sings the classics in the authentic style.
He's not really a rebetis, but I'm looking for Spiros Zagoraios. He's the oldest of the three and my hunch is that he knew a few people.
Oh yeah, and I'm looking for Anna Chrysafi, since I know she's still living and definitely knew a few of the greats in her time. You could try To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. and see if the song file works there. I know we could call Stelios Vamvakaris and ask but I really admire him and would hate to bother him over something like this. Talking to him once put me on the moon. *smile* | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Re: Looking for Some Singers Thanks. It seems that difficult is my speciality. But then again, I looked for an affordable Markos Vamvakaris 78 rpm forseveral years and found one a few months ago, so I guess waiting sometimes pays off. Also, I put up some cool youtube links that you may like. Figured it was best to keep the threads separate. | ||||||||||||||
