Medieval Greek language

Many people know that there are ancient Greek language (till 4th century A.D.) and modern Greek language (since 18th century) (which divides onto dimotika and kathareuousa). But these is also a medieval Greek language -- from 7th till 15th centuries. Another name of this language is Greek-Byzantian language.

Is there any information of this language in Internet? I want to study medieval Greek language!

Sure thing. Byzantine Greek can still be heard in any Greek church on Sunday. Check Greek Orthodox Church sites.

Russian Fellow, there is the classical Greek which is the language of 5th century BC ( and the international language of antiquity) and there is even ancient Greek before that, let's say 7th century BC ( and this is the language that Homer's poems where written). I think you need to study classical Greek which is ancient enough. Look at open.ac.uk and search for the course A275 : Reading Classical Greek. It is really exciting, I have completed it.

Also, we are starting a course HERE on Modern Greek! So you can follow this, too. It's free.
