Since their are tons of news articles on illegal immigrants of Greece I decide to make one thread so we can post all articles in here.

Traffickers detained

Police in Thessaloniki were yesterday questioning five Iraqi nationals believed to have smuggled 15 fellow Iraqis into the country. The suspects, believed to belong to a ring ferrying migrants across the Evros River separating Greece from Turkey, were arrested after their truck was stopped on the Egnatiou Highway.

Re: Iraqi Traffickers busted in Greece

It would be interesting to find out what the authorities will do with this disgusting and scabious rodents ? Instead of instant deportation , they will most likely make them pay fines and be released to return to their criminal activities. Iraquis in our homeland, what an anachronism. It is a re enactment of a tower of babel, inside Dante's inferno, in our fatherland. From the Tigris to the Evros, pathetic.

Migrant influx to islands doubles

Migrant influx to islands doubles

The number of illegal immigrants arriving on the Cyclades Islands increased by 220 percent in the first eight months of the current year compared to the same period of 2007, government statistics revealed yesterday as local authorities on the islands run out of patience with the swelling influx of desperate foreigners.

According to Interior Ministry figures, the first eight months of the year saw 11,001 illegal immigrants arrive on Lesvos, 8,000 on Samos, 4,300 on the islet of Agathonisi and 3,400 on Leros.

Authorities on the islands have reacted differently to the influx. On Patmos, locals have blocked their ports to vessels carrying would-be migrants. Local hoteliers say they have had enough as the migrants pose a public health risk and upset tourists. On Agathonisi, a small islet between Patmos and the Turkish coast, authorities have been bearing the brunt of arrivals since Patmos blocked its ports. But now residents there, too, have had enough, municipal authorities say.

One of the chief problems appears to be the lack of space at migrant reception centers on the Cyclades. Most of the centers are currently holding double the migrants they were designed to accommodate, posing health and safety problems for the migrants themselves but also for staff. On some islands, such as Agathonisi, there are no centers and migrants wander the streets.

According to Doctors Without Borders, the situation is also critical at the central port of Patras, where illegal migrants trying to board ferries to Italy have created a makeshift camp. The group said some 1,600 migrants are crammed into the camp, up from around 1,000 in May.

Re: Migrant influx to islands doubles

The chief problem is not that there is not suffcient space in the "migrants" reception centers; the main problem is that there is a " migrant" reception center ; where it should not be one at all. If you keep building bigger and larger centers the inflow will keep getting bigger and larger. Someone must get it into their empty pumpkin heads head that Greece is not a migrant nation, nor a half way station , nor a half way house, nor a pit stop to somewhere else. Until such paradigm is internalized the number of invaders will double, then triple, then quadruple, then quintuple, until we lose track and count of the slime , sludge and human detritus battening our shores. Until the gang of poltroons and parasites in the government wake up, they will never be awaken from their hypnotic slumber , the beautiful agean islands will become cloacal chambers of the mediterranean.

Hania protest

Look at how much they think we are suckers to have the nerve to protest by not eating and knowing that it will work. "Dear mayor of Hania, Please let them drop dead! Leave them there to rot as an example" Does this bs work on anyone else but Europeans??

Everyone at that town hall should be out there eating their lunch in front of them too.

Hania protest
Fifteen migrants, mostly from Morocco and Palestine, will today be completing their second week of a hunger strike protest in front of the town hall in Hania, Crete. The protesters are demanding a speeding up of the process for granting residence permits.

Perhaps, we should make it a rule that who ever makes it up to 3weeks ,shall be granted their wish.

Re: Hania protest

All that time they are spending in their protest they could take a boat and leave to go somewhere else, if they are actually 'starving" themselves. A hunger strike, like anyone really cares, people would pass them off as lazy bums anyways. But if they are really starving and someone has a sense of humor about it, throw them a piece of pork, a test of their faith!
