Hello. I'm from serbia. I know my name is greek, Dimitrious. I seached everywhere, but i could not find a meaning of it. Could you clear it out for me?

Demetra is the goddess of earth. Her daughter Persephone was kidnaped by Hades,god of the underworld.

De- Metra ---->> Ge - Meter ( Gaia (earth) - Mother )

Latins use until now the word matter .(material etc ).

As Apollyon said, the name Demetrios is originates from Demetra, the ancient godess (mother of the Earth).
