Welcome to the forum Draminos_Gr fell free to ask any questions you want

The way thinks look according to Greek defence magazines and newspapers, Greece will purchase 4-6 fremm frigates from the French.40-60 eurofighters from the Germans, more BMP-3M from Russian 250 approx. We will probably get 30-50 T-50 supersonic trainer from America and Korea.232 artillery M109A3GEA2 for alsmost free from Germany some more pzh2000 artillery from the Germans and Dutch, and maybe 100 M109A5-A6 from America.Theirs also rumors going around that Greece will purchase iskander ballistic missiles from Russian. All this before 2010.After 2010-2013 5-7 billions will be spend on more weapons S-400, upgrade are apaches f-16 block 30,mirage 2000,new wheeled APC
more Tanks etc..

As for Turkey threads, they threaten every country in the area.Greece doesnt take them serious.

Greece cancelled the order of 60 Eurofighter in 2004 because of the olympics in Athens,we needed the money for the olympics

The contract was worth more the 5 billion euro,we purchased 30 block f-16 block 52 for less then 2 billion euros {delivery will start very soon} Greece did a good move by canceling the contract,we would have to upgrade them later on it would cost us more money.Greece is mirage 2000-5 mk2 and f-16 block 52 are the best fighters in the region,. no need to rush for the Eurofighter because Turkey will receive their f-35 after 2014.

Greece has money for weapons between 2006-2015. {27-30 billions euros} have been put aside for Weapons purchase, theirs also secret funds for the military 1-2 billion euros a year.

Between 1996-2006 Pasok was spending like crazy over 35-40 billion euros because of the Imia crisis, and Turkey currency crash. the plan was to spend 40-50 billions euros from 2006-2015 until the E.U told us to take it easy, and the greek people were freaking out too.So what Nea democratia did
was they stop ordering weapons and used the money to pay for PASOK crazy spending the 5 years before. We still have about 15-17 billions euros left for new weapons until 2014

Re: Modern Greek Army

Thanks for your answer!

I hope we get the weapons which we want to order.

In an other Forum a turk say that they order the AGM-158 Jassm which has 370km range.
But they dont give me a link about that purchase.
What do you think about it?
Have you see something about that purchase?
Its difficult to belive him because he is a turk and this missile is at this time the newest and best air-ground missile of the USA.

But if the turks get this weapon it will be dangerous for us because the missile has a range about 370km and the missile have stealthtechnology. Do you think that the turks can destroy with that missile our airdefence?
