Yes the S-400 is coming to Greece we will at the fore front in Air defense technology ahead of the Americans! and yes the Bmp3-M along with small numbers of naval version of the BMP3-F have been purchased there is rumor of a future purchase of 360 additional units.

Greece to decide on wheeled IFV

According to the "Strategy", is expected to meet tomorrow to ASS (Supreme Military Council) on the approval of operational and technical requirements for the program of wheeled TOMA the HS. The main specifications concerning the movements 8x8, transportation capacity of at least 6 men, the arming level 4 perimeter, a fire apparatus 30mm and wife of 7.62 mm and 500km radius of action. The general elastic / remove strict conditions, such as capacity, the ability to airlift C-130, the amphibious capacity and the level antinarkikis protection. Overall gained around 84 2011-2015 budget 430.6 million Euro will equip units of ASDEN and V SS. I understand what you mean if you are referring to his "opening" toward Russia. But things have became so ugly that any attempt would not matter. If there is really such an attempt we will have to wait for the results. Then we will praise.

17/1/2008 Κατάπλους νέων μονάδων του Πολεμικού Ναυτικού

1. Από το Γενικό Επιτελείο Ναυτικού ανακοινώνεται ότι χθες Τετάρτη 16 Ιανουαρίου 2008 κατέπλευσαν στο Ναύσταθμο Σαλαμίνας τα Ναρκοθηρευτικά (Ν/ΘΗ) πλοία «ΚΑΛΥΨΩ» (πρώην USS HERON ) και «ΕΥΝΙΚΗ» (πρώην USS PELIKAN) τύπου OSPREY (OSPREY CLASS).

2. Η μεταφορά τους στην Ελλάδα πραγματοποιήθηκε με τη χρήση πλοίου τύπου FLO-FLO από τη βάση ελλιμενισμού τους στο CORPUS CRISTI του Τέξας των ΗΠΑ.

3. Τα Ναρκοθηρευτικά πλοία Ν/ΘΗ ΚΑΛΥΨΩ και ΕΥΝΙΚΗ, καθελκύστηκαν τον Μάρτιο του 1992 και τον Φεβρουάριο του 1993 αντίστοιχα, ενώ παραδόθηκαν στο Αμερικάνικο Πολεμικό Ναυτικό τον Αύγουστο του 1994 και τον Νοέμβριο του 1995. Η ύψωση της Ελληνικής Σημαίας έλαβε χώρα στις 16 Μαρτίου 2007 στο Τέξας των ΗΠΑ .

4. Τα πλοία έχουν μήκος 57 μέτρα , εκτόπισμα 959 τόνων , διαθέτουν δύο μηχανές 1600 ίππων και αναπτύσσουν ταχύτητα 12 κόμβων. Το πλήρωμά τους αποτελείται από 51 άτομα , εκ των οποίων οι 5 είναι αξιωματικοί. Το Πολεμικό Ναυτικό των ΗΠΑ έχει ναυπηγήσει 12 τέτοια πλοία. Το πρώτο πλοίο καθελκύστηκε το Μάρτιο του 1991 και ονομάσθηκε OSPREY , από όπου και το όνομα που έλαβε αυτή η κλάση των Ναρκοθηρευτικών.

5. Με την ένταξη των Ν/ΘΗ «ΚΑΛΥΨΩ» και «ΕΥΝΙΚΗ» στο Πολεμικό Ναυτικό , αποκτώνται νέες δυνατότητες και τεχνολογίες στην Διοίκηση Ναρκοπολέμου (ΔΝΑΡ), ενώ η πρόσκτησή τους θα συμβάλλει σε μεγάλο βαθμό στην κάλυψη των επιχειρησιακών αναγκών του Στόλου στον τομέα του σύγχρονου Ναρκοπολέμου.
