Forgive and forget?

Would you say your a type a person that forgives and forgets or no? With me it all depends on the severity of the issue.

With me it depends mostly on who it is, and not what the issue may be. Also, I may forgive things, but I never forget.

It depends on what means forget. I would say our brain does not forget, but forget could mean not to bring up the subject again with the person. Thus, I consider if we can't forget and bring up the issue from time to time to remind the person, then we have not forgiven him/her.

I forgive and forget. I learned in life that it is a very heavy burden to bear a grudge (forgive). I also do not like to live in the past (forget), but in the present. Well, the thing is that when you get older, first your memory is failing, and second, you tend to put things in another perspective: Life is too short.

well forget is a fatal error as it is sure u ll repeat your mistakes again.. But forgive... well it depends....

It is burdensome to bear a grudge and/or 'maintain the rage' ....so draining . And life IS short! We dont realise how short till we do start to get older . I find with greeks ... just about every greek family has some sort of feud happening at some time or another < lol. What a shame though , as many have simply to do with egos and pride , or stubborness. And sometimes , it carries onto the next generation who inherit the whole sorry business!

Having said that, there are certain people who are just plain nasty and its ok to say 'enough' to that kind of behaviour . You dont want to be unforgiving , but they make it difficult to come to some compromise .

Personally, I believe it is better to be able to forgive (and to not remember too much lol) and thats not always an easy thing to do , but , I think you feel more at peace with urself if you try , regardless of how others choose to be .
