| GR Member | Pedophiles and Sex Offenders loose in my neighbourhood. It has just been published that there is a halfway house for pedophiles and other sex offenders that have just been released from jail. THEY ARE LIVING IN AN APARTMENT BUILDING LOCATED AT 435 OGILVY IN MONTREAL. IT'S RIGHT NEXT TO THE OLD CFCF BUILDING JUST OUTSIDE PARC METRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I drove by this place tonight coming back from work and couldn't believe it. The city councillor for my area,Mary Deros, is absolutely fuming.Normally the federal government is supposed to inform the local city officials when opening halfway houses full of these scumbags. A meeting is scheduled for this Friday. What a country I live in. Here it is: To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. The legalization of pedophilia with the creation of such a political party is just horrible. Right now the political scene of Greece is dominated by this neo-liberalism and supposed progressivism, but we are still far from reaching such a point. And I think we are not going to - unlike the submissive citizents of other European countries, if the Greek gets upset he is not accepting directions for any authority. And with all these thing, the "upset" is getting close. | |

| GR Member | Re: Pedophiles and Sex Offenders loose in my neighbourhood. There's another halfway-house about a mile or two away that has this individual housed in it: Convicted pedophile remains at halfway house Published: Wednesday, May 09, 2007 A convicted pedophile rejected this week by a small Quebec town southeast of Montreal after his release from federal prison late last month remains lodged in a transition house in the Ahuntsic borough in north-end Montreal, Jean-Yves Roy of Correctional Service Canada said today. On April 23, Clermont Bgin, 40, completed his full 11-year term for the brutal rape at knife point and attempted murder of a 16-year-old girl in 1994. He was denied four requests for parole. Before his release from Donnacona Penitentiary, Bgin told prison authorities he would jump the first girl he saw. "On the day of his release, he had to give an address. So we gave him shelter in a halfway house in Montreal," Roy said. Bgin tried to rent an apartment in Longueuil, Roy said, adding that the landlord backed out after learning of Bgin's criminal record. It includes convictions for the rapes of an eight-year-old and a 10-year-old in 1988. This week, arrangements had been made for Bgin to stay with Les Frres de Sainte Croix, a Catholic teaching order, in St. Csaire, some 50 kilometres southeast of Montreal. But that invitation was rescinded after residents of the 5,000-population town, including Mayor Yvon Boucher, made their opposition known. Bgin "is under a court order to maintain peace and good behavior," Roy said. "The court order requires him to give his address to the police, and also any change of address to the police." It also requires Bgin to continue psychiatric treatment and keep taking his medication, according to a prepared statement from the Quebec Department of Public Security. "The police are watching him," Jacques Dupuis, minister of public security, said April 25. "I want to reassure the public," he added, "We are taking all measures to protect the population." | GR Member | Re: Pedophiles and Sex Offenders loose in my neighbourhood. I found an article about the house in my neighbourhood: A new halfway house for sexual offenders in park extension is raising the ire of community groups and residents who want the federal government to shut down the new residence. The transition home opened in September on Ogilvy Street near the Parc metro station, in one of Montreal's most densely-populated and young boroughs — Park-Extension. Borough councillor Mary Deros said she is shocked Corrections Canada would choose such an urban location to house sexual offenders. "You don't put pedophiles and sexual aggressors in an area that is so densely populated with such a high percentage of youth and children here," she said in an interview with CBC News. "Especially in an area where there is so much human traffic, so much pedestrian movement in this particular area, right in front of the Parc metro [station]. "I would have liked to have had a choice. The security of my citizens is a priority, and this is unacceptable." Deros and three local community youth groups requested a meeting with Corrections Canada to discuss the facility. That meeting should take place at the end of the week, said Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day, who was in Quebec Wednesday to meet with a class of newly graduated border guards. "We've had situations like this before where concerns are raised in the community. There are criteria in terms of how far is a facility like that from a school, from a park, and in what kind of populated area it is. So I've asked them to meet to work out the situation," he said. Day said he hopes both sides will be able to work out the situation. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Work out the situation? Unless someone peppers that place with machine gun fire it's staying. |

| GR Member | Re: Pedophiles and Sex Offenders loose in my neighbourhood. Here's another: Halfway house raises concerns The Gazette Published: Thursday, October 04 A halfway house for sexual offenders in the Park Extension district will be the subject of a meeting tomorrow between Corrections Canada officials and representatives of the Villeray/St. Michel/Park Extension borough. The residence on Ogilvy Ave., which houses 13 convicted pedophiles and 13 other sexual offenders, raised the ire of borough officials when it reopened on Sept. 10 after five years. "We can't have these types of people" in the area, which is densely populated and has a high proportion of young children, said Mary Deros, city councillor for Park Extension district. | GR Elite | Wow Id hate to have them living in my neighbourhood, and lets face it anywhere is not going to be acceptable by most people . Most citizens would naturally reject pedos, regardless if they have served their sentences and been punished for their crimes against children . The thing is... paedophilia isnt JUST a crime right? Its a condition(?) too. Im not sure how else to refer to it . Just cause they are out of jail ...it doesn't mean that they wont do the same thing again . Is there are a 'cure' for it? or not? And yeah they cant just 'shoot' them , so what DO YOU DO with these sick people AFTER they are out again? Unless they have laws for the death penalty ... they are going to have to come back into society somehow . They have to adress it better than just only jail .
