| I would not say that the numbers and percentages of this article are very close to reality. Besides the fact that the numbers are of 2001 and many things changed since then, the article is not taking in consideration the immigrants who have no papers wich are probably the majority.
For example the article mentions 10,000 Pakistanis while in reality they are at least 50,000. And for sure the undocumented immigrants are much more than the 200,000 the article mentions. |

I am curious as to how Greek Albanians are treated in Greece as opposed to Albanians in general. I had assumed that they were treated the same as any of the other Diaspora. I caught a little of Kalimera Ellada the other day and Papadakis brought it up and made me wonder. He said that we refer to Greek Albanians as Borio Eipirotes when we are talking about the ones who are still in Albania, that in Albania they are called Greeks, but when they are in Greece we call them Albanians. It’s sad to me that they are stuck in this cultural inconsistency. |

The Pontians and Ionians who came to Greece the past decades were called Turks here - even today they are called in some occasions. The Greeks from former USSR who repatriated were called Russians when they came etc etc. While in Turkey and USSR they were called and been treated as Greeks. |
