Favorite Beaches

So far my favorite beaches would have to be those in Greece particularly Kavala and Ikaria. My opinion might change once I start travelling to other beaches in different parts of the world.

I'm gonna be bias, and say some of my most fave places are the unspoilt beaches of my fathers island, Symi.

They are indeed very beautiful. Is the island in the Cyclades? I never heard of it. These beaches must be a well kept secret.

Symi is situated in the Dodekanisa group of islands. It's only a very small island off the tip of Rhodes, and around 22 sq miles in size.

The beaches are absolutely gorgeous, but the pebbles are a nuisance!

I was wondering that, about the pebbles. Can you swim there? There are some big pebbles in some areas.

Non Nuoc Beach in Da Nang. Voted one of the most beautiful beaches by Forbes in 2005. It is incredible the number of beaches in Vietnam. I have never seen those.

OK, three hotels accomodating 100 persons. Now, that is touristy ... only three hotels. I mean, you almost have the beach for yourself.

Hey Really!

Absolutely you can swin, although it's a little hard to lay your towel down and sunbake. Get yourself a nice banana chair, and your good to go!

I was in Vietnam back in the late 90's for a holiday, unfortunately, we didn't get to travel much past Ho Chi Minh city. Would of loved to go further north and swim in the gorgeous beaches they have there.

I could definitely see myself at Non Nuoc Beach!!

Oh, really, you went to Vietnam! Lucky you! If I remember well. Fatsa was mentioning some of his friends went there too.

There is actually a very nice beach about 100 Km from Saigon, it is called Vung Tau, I think I have posted a video here before. Since it is close to the city, it has many more touristic facilities. Vietnam is such a cheap tourist destination, I guess more people go there now. It is just so far away.

About the beaches in Symi, well, I think at least you don't risk your towel being blown away by the wind, you can just put pebbles in the four corners of it.

Vietnam was definitely an eye opener!

I am use to travelling to Thailand quite often, as we have been doing business there for over 15 years now. Well, my father more so, than I.

I went backpacking through Thailand, from north to south, and South Vietnman with my then girlfriend, now wife. Unfortunately, we did most of the city thing in Vietnam, and did the tourist thing by visiting heaps of war memorials, Coo Chee tunnels, and such.

Many of the beaches in Thailand are pristine, and virtually untouched. Many unfortunately are swarming with tourists.
