IMAX and Exhibition - The Greeks

There is an IMAX movie called Secrets of the Past about Santorini etc. as well as an exhibition called The Greeks going on till beginning September at the Museum of Civilization in Hull, Quebec. That is just across the bridge from Ottawa, the National Capital of Canada. The exhibition is presented in conjunction with the Benaki Museum in Athens.

Click on the movie trailer and on the link to the exhibition.

More info on the exhibition. It is the only stop in North America.

I watched the trailer it was beautiful. It must look amazing in Imax. I don't think I ever saw the Parthenon look quite so majestic either. The way it was caputured,I guess how they filmed it and that angle, was stunning.

Re: IMAX and Exhibition - The Greeks

Yes, I agree, the trailer is beautiful and worth watching. About the Parthenon, I think nothing equals seeing it in real life, under the sunshine of Greece. I remember climbing those huge marble steps, going around, so the temple was out of sight and then it was suddenly in front of me. Although I have seen many pictures of it, I must say that nothing but nothing at all has prepared me for the stunning effect of it.

It is very strange but pictures cannot reproduce the magnificence of those monuments and the particular Greek light contrasted with the white marble and the blue sea. It was the same thing with Sounio, maybe even much more surprising to me. I found it the most beautiful place I have visited in Greece. The pictures cannot even start reflecting the beauty of it.
