| Admins | According to a survey of Panteion University, the total number of persons with Greek ancestry, including the people in areas with big Greek presence in the past (Mediterranean coast, Black sea coast, South Italy, Asia Minor and Middle East) is about 80-90 million. However most of them don't recognise their Greek identity and they culturally assimilated in other nations. The list Prokomenos posted is valid regarding the ones who immigrated from the modern Greek state and still recognise their Greek identity. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | That is a shame that so many have forget where they come from. I know a few here in the states that dont relate to being Greek whatsover and consider themselves American which when you think about really makes no sense. Can you imagine if all those acknowledged that they were Greek how much of a jump in population we would be? |

| GR Untouchable | 1.1 million seems to little. The official census lists of Illinois having only 95,000 Greeks. No way, there were a 100,000 in the 1960s. A lot of Greeks aren't putting themselves as Greeks. The half-half ones could also be putting something else too. |
