Athens. Athens is ready to recognize the independence of Kosovo, the Greek daily Ta Nea announces. Greece is steadily walking towards recognizing the independence of the region, since it is expected that the EU-member states will take this step after the finalization of the Presidential elections in Serbia. The EU welcomes the victory of the pro-western Boris Tadic

I hope this is not the case. Their is no reason for Kosovo to be independent. It is part of Serbian land.

Believe it or not, we had a conversation about it with my Greek friend and i said: Greece will be one of the states that will recognize Kosovo's independence first thou Serbia is one of the major allies of Greece - and see, i am Psychic.

I would not be surprised if a "leader" who makes a state visit to turkey would do this. But the vast majory of Greeks would oppose this. The same way the German government lets in mass turkish immigration but every German there wants them out. I'm sure a lot of Germans lost sleep knowing all those turks got roasted in that apartment fire yesterday.....

We are truly on our way to becoming the mayordomo of the EU compost. All what our " provincial govt." is apt to do is to shine the boots of the filthy, mangy eurocrats. The destructive Euro-globalism is more than ever with us, we are part of the decomposing Europe, a Europe with no borders, no identity and no soul that wants the Turkey to join in.Brussels will decide on the entry authorizations for all of the nations trapped in the EU. We, in Greece, will have nothing to say about visas, immigration-invasion policies or asylum brigades thumping on out sieve like borders. Once admitted to a country all non european foreigners will have the right to settle freely in any other " province" ( formerly country): it will be totally legal for thousands and thousands of illegals amnestied by another " province" ( like the marrano govt. of Spain did a few years ago) to come , invade and live in our land. With Karamanoglou at the helm and the rapacious Bakoyanis steering the foreign provincial policies we are the model vassal state within the EU corral.
