Free Reconstruction Starts in a Month

The free reconstruction of the burnt residences in the fire-hit areas is to commence in a month’s time, with the residents themselves being responsible for the progress of the works. Prior to the works, the residents will be given construction permits and the first instalment of the financial aid.

Head of the Special Emergency Support and Relief Fund Petros Molyviatis said that the financial aid will be given in three instalments, depending on the progress of the reconstruction works.

Molyviatis called on all interested parties to file applications at the regional Public Works Ministry offices, which will see to what each applicant is entitled to. Reconstruction works can start as soon as the construction permits are issued, while the deadline for completion is the owners’ responsibility.
