Can someone answer this question for me: What the hell is he thinking? OK. I guess “thinking” might be pushing it. It has become painfully apparent that no one advising this guy has any idea of history or concern for the future. I’m sure they are serving their own interests somehow. Maybe our esteemed president just wanted to go somewhere where he would be given a “hero’s welcome”.

Its a shame to have to say this but Bush is a moron. One he has no clue about history of others people. Kosovo belongs to Serbia and their is no reason why it should be independent. The US is doing this for their own purpose what it is I have no clue. This guy seriously needs to go.

The way things are going now, it looks as though Kosovo independence is going to happen either through the Security Council or unilaterally by American fiat. I fear the latter could lead to unrest and the flight of the remaining Kosovo Serbian population.

Given that Kosovo's fate will be settled before Bush leaves office, I would suggest that the Russians propose partition. Half a pie is better than none.

You are right that independence is inevitable, but I don’t think even a Russian supported partitioning will fly. I think an independent Kosovo run by criminals is a problem the next few presidents after Bush will have to deal with, not to mention Europe.

Well lets see Im pretty sure Russia is against it all the way so hopefully that might play in Serbia's favor. Kosove should remain with Serbia plain and simple. Those Albanian criminals have no right to that land they have Albania to live in and do as they wish.

I suspect part of the reason the US is behind the Albanians in Kosovo is to appease Muslims and Muslim apologists. They don’t really see these punks as a threat to anyone (because they don’t know how it really is) so then they can say, “See we aren’t picking on Muslims. Look at Kosovo.”

By the way, who was the general who said we made a huge mistake in Kosovo. Was it Clark?

I think its just another way to increase Muslim influence at the expense that the majority/host population dosen't become too powerful and to look after its own interests. Just look at the situations with Muslims in France, Britain, Germany and the Netherlands. I don't see why the West would support the Serbs or Christians while the host populations in the host countries are becoming weaker.

You may be right. I don’t much go in for conspiracy theories, but I wouldn’t put it past these bozos. They might think that more Muslim immigration will undermine the EU. That could also be part of the reason they keep pushing for Turkey’s admission. (God forbid they leave it up to the Europeans.) One thing I know for sure is politicians that can see past their noses are few and far between in this country.
