Turkey considers decision made by Greece in 1994 ground for hostility

should explain it all.

ANKARA - Turkish Foreign Ministry said that the decision made by the Greek government on February 24th, 1994 to mark May 19th as so-called "Pontus Genocide Remembrance Day" constitutes a ground for hostile campaigns of some circles.
Releasing a statement, the ministry said on Wednesday that so-called "genocide" allegations supported by Pontus associations and some Greek politicians have no historic or scientific basis.
The statement noted that Turkey expected necessary measures to be taken to end the mentioned unfriendly initiatives threatening good neighborhood relations (between Turkey and Greece).
It also said that Turkey condemns participation of (Greek) government officials, parliamentarians and local administrators in activities held in Athens and Thessaloniki on May 19th and 20th.

Re: Turkey considers decision made by Greece in 1994 ground for hostility

All of this makes sense to anyone who realizes that Turkey considers it a hostility that Greeks even exist. These filthy pigs will look and find numerous reasons to go after Greece and make demands, etc. They act like this now, imagine them if in the EU?

This was 13 years ago, they have a problem with it now?

They are probably realizing that issues like this will prevent them from entering the EU.

Turkey's military is one false move away from getting rejected from the EU talks. If they make their interference visible in their upcoming elections, Europe has reason enough to push them out.

At one time EU members could veto admission of new members. Does Greece not have veto power over Turkey's entry into the EU?

Isn't Greece practically leading the charge into allowing them?

Well, if Turkey and Albania get into the EU, Epirus will be overrun with returning Chams.
