The Ministry of Defense promotes drastic changes

According to an article of the newspaper "Eleftherotypia", the Hellenic Ministry of National Defense is promoting big changes in the army serving system.

The most important of them are:

-Conscription will be obligatory for all males when they finish highschool, even if they have qualified for the supreme Education.
All the males will be joining the army at the age of 17, 18 or 19 and the ones who are qualified for University will continue their studies after the army.

-Conscription will be possible for females too, but not obligatory. Only the females who want to will be able to be recruited, and the state will offer social motives to them.

-Every conscript will have to participate in the Hellenic land forces training. Even if he/she is indeded for the Air Force or the Navy, his/her passing from the land force will be obligatory.

The purpose of these changes is the manpower growth.
