Question

I remember reading off a Roman Empire forum a couple of articles about Greeks being Roman slaves. Now is that true?
Also that forum seems to believe that Macedonians were not Greek. I got furious and cursed them and got banned. I cant stand Italians and you would think they are suppose to be like our brothers.

Sorry to ruin your day but they are right. After the Romans conquered Greece they did in fact enslave Greeks just like they enslaved every other foreigner. They did get the crap scared out of them when a Greek slave named Spartacus mounted a rebellion that came very close to deposing the Roman government. Don't take it personally, Greeks made Italians their slaves too (mostly from Sicily) when they were in power. It was the way of the ancient world; whoever lost became a slave.

Re: Question

That's included. Economical, mental or physical, slavery still exists. And it will continue to exist as long as humans exist.

Re: Question

I've read that Sparticus wasn't Greek but a Thracian?

I found this at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sparticus

The ancient sources agree that Spartacus was a native Thracian who had served as an auxiliary in the Roman army, but was disgraced and sold into slavery. Plutarch describes him as "a Thracian of nomadic stock";[2] Appian says he was "a Thracian by birth, who had once served as a soldier with the Romans, but had since been a prisoner and sold for a gladiator";[3] and Florus says he was "a mercenary Thracian [who] had become a Roman soldier, of a soldier a deserter and robber, and afterwards, from consideration of his strength, a gladiator";[4] However, "Thracian" was a style of gladiatorial combat in which the gladiator fought with a round shield and a short sword or dagger,[5] and it has been argued that this may have confused the sources about his geographical origins,[citation needed] although no alternative origin is attested.

The name "Spartacus" is otherwise attested in the Black Sea region: kings of Cimmerian Bosporus[6] and Pontus[7] are known to have borne it, and a Thracian "Spardacus"[8] or "Sparadokos",[9] father of Seuthes I of the Odrysae, is also known.

:GEEK: H imimatheia einai xeiroteri tis amatheias
( Knowing few things about something , is worst than ignorance of it )

Gentlemen we are lost in history space...
Few things below to step our mind on earth

"Greeks being Roman slaves"
... ofcourse we were slaves to them in the first time...
but dont forget the Emperor Constantine the Great and his action
to move the capital of the empire ,Rome , to a new place ,
a small village called Byzantio ( volume - hill - or something like that )
and dont forget the separation to western(latin)
and eastern(hellenic) after many years...

"Also that forum seems to believe that Macedonians were not Greek."
If we accurate to our words we can say that Makedons arent Geraioi...
Makednoi are a thracian part and Geraioi are Ipeirots
Geraioi were the first Hellenic part which encountered Roman army
so Romans called all Hellenes , <<Greeks>>

"I cant stand Italians and
you would think they are suppose to be like our brothers"
--(1)--In Italy , there are milions of Hellenes , but throught centuries they
no nothing about it... I know in Sikelia they still speak Hellenic in
few villages...--(1)--
--(2)--On the other hand the first Italians ( Lazzi-Illirians (and not Latin as
we call them now) came from the Kaukasos region--(2)--

Last comment about Etruskans (North Italy)
Italians say Etruskans are their fathers ,
a) Yes they are, if we accept --(1)--
b)No.if we accept --(2)-- because we know from Homer that after the
destruction of Troia (Troy) few survivors went to North Italy and
established a new city.......
and if u ask what kind of race were Trojans , they belonged to the great
thracian part
